Barbara is a seasoned Human Resource Professional eager to leverage her extensive skills and gently-firm style to assist organizations and managers grappling with urgent human resource situations or more strategic, people-centered organizational development initiatives.
Barbara has 30+ years of professional Human Resources experience, most recently as Human Resources Manager for the Harman International Washington plant. Prior to Harman, Barbara was the HR Director for Magnet, responsible for satellite operations in Illinois, South Carolina, Georgia and California. Before Magnet she was HR Manager for Edison Brother’s Distribution Centers in several states. Barbara’s early HR experiences were with Von Weise Electronics and the Kellwood Company.
Barbara is experienced and ready to help with: employee relations, mentor/coach resource teams, climate surveys, employee recruitment and selection processes, market-based compensation plans, implementation of progressive discipline strategies, supporting team-based, continuous improvement cultures, training programs, writing HR policies, procedures, job descriptions and employee handbooks that are consistent with individual company cultures while complying with state and federal regulations, performance appraisal / development plans, employee incentive programs, retirement plans, accident prevention programs and navigating the changing health insurance climate.
