Recruiting & Retention Coaching

Are you troubled by high turnover?

Do some of your new hires show up as strangers in comparison to their resumes and interview impressions? How well do your managers know how to evaluate a candidate? Does your hiring process begin when an opening occurs? Now more than ever it is crucial to find and retain the best talent possible…and it is getting more difficult to do so. Low unemployment, greater worker mobility, and candidate values that are non-aligned with your prevailing culture are just some of the reasons that make staffing choices so difficult. We will help you understand your hiring process (by the way, it should begin well before an opening occurs) and redesign it so that you are able to fill openings and make promotions with an ease, a greater clarity about the kind of person you are seeking, and a higher certainty that your choice matches the requirements of the job and the candidate’s career preferences.

But you’re not out of the woods yet. Once you find and hire the right people, you have to keep them. We will help you design processes to orient the new hire to the expectations of the job and the cultural nuances of your organization so that they don’t just survive, but thrive. By providing the support of a neutral coach who has no hierarchic authority and is committed only to their on-the-job success and well-being, your new people become productive quicker and achieve a sense of satisfaction and confidence about themselves and their work. This is a true win-win and a powerful demonstration of your promise to support their success.

How about those newly promoted managers and supervisors. If your organization is like most, these people have been recognized for their technical skills as individual performers and rewarded with a new, higher paying job that requires superior communication and human relations skills about which they know little beyond what their instincts tell them. Yes, training can be of some value, but the majority of workshops they may attend don’t support them back on the job when they must try to apply what they’ve learned in the real world. And if they fail, what then? Most likely they’ll discard what they’ve learned and go back to operating by the seat of their pants. Here again, having the support of a neutral coach, who has been in their shoes, can create a freedom and safety out of which to express fears and frustrations, explore different intervention options, and get up to speed quickly as a confident and respected leader in your organization.

In the event you have a mentor program

Let us help you train those mentors to be true coaches and support them with group coaching and teleforums to stimulate their continued development.
